拍品資料及來源

David Cock was born in Enkhuizen and became a schoolmaster in Arnhem; the first edition of this textbook is supposed to have been published c. 1640 (no copy is known); the present edition was revised by S. Cock and corrected by Isaac Le Duc, a French schoolmaster in Dordrecht. Charles Hoornaert was a schoolteacher in Deventer; apart from the copy of this book, in Deventer, Athenaeumbibliotheek, H 1845 (perhaps the copy recorded by Bierens de Haan 3132), this first edition is unknown. A second edition published at Deventer in 1659 is known from a single copy.
