“The foundation of all planetary calculations for over a century” (Sparrow, Milestones of Science). In 1601, shortly before his death, Tycho Brahe asked Kepler to finish his Rudolphine tables of planetary motion. Kepler's completed work, based both on his discovery of the laws of planetary motion and on his introduction to logarithms, produced far more accurate positions than those in previous tables.

The bibliography of this work is complex, as the loose sheets were bound at different times with different additions: this copy includes the four-leaf “Sportula genethliacis missa” issued in 1629; the world map and Bartsch’s appendix “Tabulae novae logarithmico-logisticae” (both posthumous) are absent.
