"This edition, of which there are two copies in the collection, is the same text as the first edition. The title page has been changed to better represent the content—two major problems of the day, dialing and gauging, are featured prominently. Neither the edition of the previous year nor these two volumes contain figures numbered 2 and 3, an omission that appears to be deliberate" (Tomash & Williams).
