AN IMPORTANT PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY HAMMETT TO HIS LONGTIME EDITOR. The Thin Man introduces the married detectives Nick and Nora Charles; although they were featured in a series of six films, Hammett never wrote a sequel to the novel.
