Condition

The canvas has not been lined. The work is in superb original condition and is clean and ready to hang. There are strong passages of impasto throughout, notably in the daisies. A very minor area of faint craquelure in the lower left hand corner of the vase, this is only visibly on very close inspection. UV light inspection reveals no evidence of retouching or restoration. Held in the original gilt frame and under glass.
"In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. ‘One of the most accomplished of the later still-lifes, the paler tonality of this series here being disturbed by the bright colour of the flowers and the orange in the foreground.’
