Oil on canvas, lined. There is a web of craquelure over the picture surface, especially visible in the sky. Surface dirt and dust, and a discolored varnish, with a visible drip in the sky at right. A few scattered accretions, such as few dots of gold paint along the right upper edge. There are scattered retouches along the outlines of the buildings at left which have blanched with time and turned white. Under UV light, there is an area of retouching at the upper left corner; a dot of retouching at the upper right corner; and some minor scattered retouches throughout the scene. There is strengthening to some of the figures on the bridge and along the roof-tops of the buildings, many of which remain under a slightly green fluorescing of varnish. The aformentioned white retouches flouresce bright purple.
