Oil on canvas, lined. The picture surface is in generally fair condition aside from some areas of thinness, especially in the background, and a stable yet visible web of craquelure. Some minor pigment separation in the trees in the background. Under UV light, the majority of the foreground is covered by a green fluorescing varnish that obscures the picture surface. This varnish has been removed from the sky, where there are brushy retouches scattered throughout. There are small scattered dots and dashes of retouching scattered throughout the scene and visible over the green fluorescing varnish. There is also strengthening to the outlines of many figures including the animals. Larger areas of retouching are visible along the lower right edge; in and around the greyhound at lower right; in the coachman; and the area between the two people seated in the coach. Framed and ready to hang in its current condition.
