CONTAINS 12 ENVELOPES WITH 18 TOTAL ASTRONAUT SIGNATURES
All envelopes are 3 ½ by 6 ½ inches and consists of:

1) First Day of Issue block of four 4-cent Project Mercury stamps. Postmarked on February 20, 1962, at Cape Canaveral, FLA. SIGNED by SCOTT CARPENTER, GORDON COOPER, and WALLY SCHIRRA.

2) A USS Intrepid prime recovery ship hand cancel on May 24, 1962, the flight date of Scott Carpenter and Aurora 7. SIGNED by SCOTT CARPENTER.

3) A yellow Swanson Project Mercury Man-in-Space earth and spacecraft orbit cachet postmarked on the Sigma 7 flight day of October 3, 1962 at Patrick Air Force Base, FLA. SIGNED by WALLY SCHIRRA.

4) Facial images of all 7 Mercury astronauts, with the cover saluting Walter M. Schirra’s Sigma 7 flight. Postmarked on October 3, 1962 at Houston, TX. SIGNED by SCOTT CARPENTER, GORDON COOPER, and WALLY SCHIRRA.

5) November 1962 Mercury Space Exhibit in red text. Postmarked on November 17, 1962 at the National Postage Stamp Show in New York, NY. SIGNED by SCOTT CARPENTER, GORDON COOPER, and WALLY SCHIRRA.

6) A red, white, and blue Spacecraft Project Mercury cachet postmarked on Gordon Cooper’s Faith 7 launch date. Postmarked on May 15, 1963 at Cape Canaveral, FLA. SIGNED by GORDON COOPER.

7) Air Mail envelope with a rubber stamp cachet reading: “Maj. Leroy G. Cooper, Project Mercury, 22 Orbits. Postmarked on May 15, 1963 on the USS WASP. SIGNED by GORDON COOPER.

8) Red text and a light green United Nations emblem cachet reading: “Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper, Jr., flew 22 orbits around the earth in his Faith 7 capsule.” With a quote from President Kennedy. Postmarked on May 15, 1963 at the United Nations, New York, NY. SIGNED by GORDON COOPER.

9) A red and green Swanson Project Mercury Faith 7 Splashdown cachet. Postmarked May 16, 1963 at Cape Canaveral, FLA. SIGNED by GORDON COOPER.

10) Orbit Covers blue Project Mercury cachet with Mercury Atlas 9 images. Postmarked on May 16, 1963 at Cape Canaveral, FLA. SIGNED by GORDON COOPER.
