Condition

The paper has discoloured unevenly in line with age. There is a cut approximately 5cm in length in the lower right of the work which has been taped on the reverse. There are two diagonal creases in the lower left corner, running across the figure's foot. Additionally there is a horizontal crease running across the hem of the figure's skirt and several small horizontal creases running along the left edge. A stain in visible on the left-hand side of the hem of the figure's skirt. Some faint foxing is visible throughout the work. There is a fine layer of surface dirt and there are spots in places, the most noticeable of which is to the left of the figure's shoulder, below the figure's left foot and in the lower right corner. Remnants of adhesive tape can be seen along the lower edge of the work on the reverse. The work is hinged to the backing board along the top edge. Held in a simple metal frame. Unexamined out of frame.
