The ceilings of the main dining room in the Okhotnikov estate, located in central Moscow, are decorated with studies by Shukhaev and Yakovlev. The building’s original owner was a wealthy member of the Imperial court, Pavel Yakovlevich Okhotnikov. However, the designs were commissioned by the villa’s final owner, V.I Firsanova, as part of restoration works that took place in the 20th century. The style of the studies serves as a perfect rendition of the typical neo-classical style of the 19th century.
There are four vertical creases running through the sheet. The sheet has discolored unevenly and there are multiple tears to the edges, some of which have been repaired. There is extensive creasing throughout and a few pinholes in places. The surface is dirty.
