Condition
Original canvas. There are frame abrasions along the edges. There is craquelure visible in places, most notably in both upper corners and along the top edge. Some further minor cracks and flecks of paint loss are scattered throughout the composition. There is a light layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouching along the edges and corners. Some further scattered spots of retouching are visible in the background, along the sitter's left arm and in places on her shirt. Held in a gilt wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
