Condition

The support is slightly bowed. There are frame abrasions with associated paint loss along the edges. The bottom and left edges are slightly uneven. There minor flecks of paint loss to the left of the sitter's buttocks and feet as well as some tiny flecks of paint loss scattered throughout the background. There is a faint diagonal scratch to the upper right edge. There are white accretions to the sitter's cheek and wrist. Fine craquelure is visible throughout, most notably on the white sheet covering the sitter's legs. There is a layer of surface dirt with spots of dirt in places. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor retouching along the lower right edge as well as unevenly discoloured varnish. Held in a painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
