The edges and corners show wear. There are several tears to the sheet, some of which have been repaired, notably one vertical tear running from the top edge to the head of the male figure. The sheet shows creasing with minor associated paint loss throughout the composition, which includes a horizontal crease running across the centre. The face of the male figure was painted on a separate piece of paper which was then collaged to the work. There is some retouching to the sky visible to the naked eye. The surface is covered in a light layer of dirt. Held behind glass in a simple wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
