Overall measurements: 176cm across the top, 174cm across the bottom, 205cm the left hand side, 212cm the right hand side.
Glossy lustrous wool. Pile varies from 7mm to knotbars just beginning to be visible, principally in the centre of the lower border. Dark browns oxidised. Very nice weave. Soft red weft. Flexible handle. Between 3-5mm of plain red end finish and irregularly trimmed brindled warp fringing. Small amount of re-piling in the white of the central medallion, not visible from face. Sidecords are possibly original? Very unusual combination of colours including a rare purplish red. A very attractive example.
