Condition

Overall measurements: 116cm across the top, 120cm across the bottom, 158cm the left hand side, 164cm the right hand side. In overall excellent condition. Pile evenly sheared 3mm overall. Upper end back-stitched, lower end trimmed with original flatweave. Sidecords original. In exemplary condition and ready to use. Light mauve is tip faded and is possibly early use of fuchsine, does not distract from the quality of the rug. Very good crisp drawing.

Crisp drawing is not uncommon within these examples, which  often have a plain blue ground design, see lot 15 for an example. It is, however, highly unusual to find such clarity, and indeed range of colours, with such an array of motifs.
