Condition

Overall measurements: 146cm across the top, 144cm across the bottom, 233cm the left hand side, 239cm the right hand side. Pile generally good to fair. Lustrous richly dyed wool, flexible handle, up to 3mm in depth but mainly varying between 1mm and knotbars (the majority of the field with knotbars just beginning to appear). Upper end banded guardstripe rewoven, and small section of the outer ivory guard, adjacent to the corner, is re-woven. Banded outer guards removed on each side and edges with later re-overcasting in navy blue wool. Lower with trimmed warp fringes and blanket stitch. Extraordinary range of colours and slightly eccentric design!
