Of garland design, the detachable cluster collet-set with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, the mount further embellished with similarly cut and rose diamonds, Austrian assay mark for gold and maker's mark for Köchert, unsigned.

Given by Emperor François Joseph to Archduchess Marie Anne of Austria, Princess Elie de Bourbon Parme, on the occasion of the birth of her daughter, Marie Françoise, in 1906. "Un écrin cuir beige, grande broche avec pendeloque en diamants (de Köchert). Cette broche m'a été donnée par l'empereur François Joseph pour la naissance de ma fille Marie Françoise. La pendeloque n'existe plus".

[A beige leather case with a large diamond brooch with pendants (by Köchert). This brooch was given by Emperor François Joseph for the birth of my daughter Marie Françoise. The pendant does not exist anymore].

Condition

Austrian assay mark for gold and maker's mark for Köchert. The central diamond measuring approximately 8.60 x 8.70 x 5.65mm, calculated to weigh approximately 3.30 carats. Remaining diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 8.50 - 9.50 carats, on average H-I colour, VS-SI clarity, few abraded girdles. Signs of age and wear with minor evidence of tarnish, minor indents. Clasp secure. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 21 grams.
