the first signed Saint d'après Augustin, after Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin, oval, according to family tradition representing Amalia, Princess of Bavaria, wearing a fine blue muslin dress, stamped gilt-metal mount, rectangular ebonised wood frame, 4cm. high; the other oval, the sitter wearing a white dress and pearl necklace, a lace veil partly covering her hair, stamped gilt-metal mount, rectangular black-laquered wood frame, 4.8cm. high

Condition

Very light spidery mould and dust on surface of miniature, some wear and loss to gilding of mount; the second: miniature in good condition, some dust and dirt around the edges. The glass has some humidity spots underneath and is beginning to show signs of disease (should be replaced).
