Folio (279x200 mm.), 12 tavole incise a piena pagina in numerazione del testo, 1 tavola incisa ripiegata (colonne Antonina e Traiana) fuori numerazione, tavola dedicatoria figurata in cornice architettonica, antiporta figurata e allegorica con papa Alessandro VII e stemma Chigi, decorazioni e iniziali xilografiche, esemplare con barbe, legatura in cartoncino coevo con autore, titolo e numero di inventario manoscritti sul dorso, lievi bruniture e segni di umidità, rinforzi alle tavole, segni di restauro su alcune carte in particolare le prime con frontespizio e antiporta, alcune tavole maggiormente rifilate, qualche riparazione sulla legatura

PRIMA E UNICA EDIZIONE. Opera interessante ed inusuale del gesuita Giuseppe Ferroni (pubblicata sotto lo pseudonimo di Giovanni Andrea Borboni) ricca di informazioni e aneddoti su artisti e scultori, come Michelangelo e Bernini. Tavole disegnate da Lazzaro Baldi, allievo di Pietro da Cortona, ed incise da François Spierre e da Guillaume Chasteau. In quest’esemplare antiporta e tavola dedicatoria sono invertite. “Frontispizio figurato di accurata e nitida esecuzione” (Cicognara).
