Condition
Very good condition overall. Chips, scratches, marks and abrasions throughout consistent with the object’s age and use within the culture.Woven fibre to the top of the shield fraying with minor damage. Large crack reaching up from bottom edge, through the wood, with old repair using metal plate and nails. Dark, charred surface as visible in the catalogue illustration. Label bearing Elizabeth Pryce collection inv. no. EP-204 on reverse of shield and Peter Hallinan inv. no. H1030 handwritten on reverse in white.
