Condition

Overall the condition of the marble is very good. The marble retains its beautifully carved and polished original skin. However, there is dirt to the surface, particularly to the reverse and the marble would benefit from cleaning by a professional conservator. There is natural veining to the marble consistent with the material, including a prominent vein to the back of the head and further veins across the shoulders. There are a few very minor chips and abrasions, there are naturally occurring inclusions to the marble. There are water drip marks to the reverse and evidence of a past label. There are a few specks of dirt or paint to the socle. There is a scratch to the shoulders at the reverse.
