Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface, consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the lacquer patina, particularly at the high points. There is a hole to the base behind the legs, which probably held a now-lost figure of a satyr. There are a few minor nicks and scratches. The marble base is in very good condition, with minor chips and abrasions to the edges and corners. There is some restoration to the back right corner.
