Overall the condition of the brass is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age and use. There is some tarnishing to the brass, including to the top of the rim, to the inside of the dish on the sides, and to the back. There is some minor greening on the rim on the right hand side of the bowl. There is rubbing to the high points of the inscriptions and the decoration. There are a few small dents to the rim and the underside. There is a later hook to the back for mounting.
