Condition

There are restored breaks to the central panel and the left panel of the central section, as well as to the panel on the right wing (with a loss to the right edge). It is possible that the sections with the heads of the Virgin and Saint John the Baptist (or possibly the whole of this panel) are later replacements. Glue residue is visible in areas, in particular to the bottom of the panel with the Virgin and Child, and to the panel on the right wing at the top. There are remnants of red polychromy in areas. The frame is made in sections, and some slightly open but stable joints are visible in areas. There are also some minor losses to the three tips of the triptych. There are a few minor losses to the inlay, in particular to the sides of the base, to the front of the base, to the left corner of the central relief, to the tip of the central relief, and to the bottom right corner of the right wing. There may be further restorations to the inlay. One of the pieces of bone inlay on the right wing is lost. One of the wood sections at the back right corner of the base is slightly loose, and some wood to the sides of the base is lost. Some of the wood of the frame is probably later restoration, and the hinges are also late.
