There is overall wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are losses to the top corners and the bottom left corner including the saint's proper right foot. There are several chips and abrasions, including to the edges of the scroll, the tip of the nose, and the high points of the drapery. There are scratches to the surface throughout. There are several remnants of polychromy, notably red colour on the drapery and gilding in the hair. There are two restored horizontal breaks across the hips and below the knees.
There is wear to the ebonised wood frame, including minor losses and evidence of past worming.
