Condition
Hinge mounted in two places along the upper edge to an old decorative mount. The sheet has discolored somewhat and there are some small brown flecks to the right half of the sheet. Some of the colored washed have dropped back somewhat in their intensity, however the overall image remains strong throughout. Sold unframed.

Although this sheet, a characteristic example of Moucheron's Italianate landscape drawings, was unknown to Nina Wedde when she published her 1994 catalogue raisonné on the artist, it can be very closely compared on both stylistic and compositional grounds to another signed sheet by the artist, previously on the Amsterdam art market in 1983.1 1.
