Condition
The watercolour remains in good condition. The paper has darkened slightly with time but the pigments remain fresh.

Callow left Paris for England in 1841 and soon acquired a number of aristocratic pupils, amongst whom was the Hon. Annabel Crewe, a sister of Lord Crewe. He was engaged to give her lessons at Madeley Manor, in both 1842 and 1843, where she lived with her aunt Mrs Cunliffe Offley.
