Condition

Unexamined out of frame. The canvas is original. There is evidence of rubbing along the vertical edges, in keeping with an old frame. There are some minor scuffs in the extreme upper left corner. There is a pattern of fine lines of craquelure across the surface of the work, most noticeable to the sky. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals two areas of retouching above and to the left of the barn on the left hand side, and a small number of very fine, sensitively executed spot retouchings elsewhere. The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
