Derek A. Davenport was Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at Purdue University, West Lafayette in Indiana. A stalwart in the field of education, he traveled extensively throughout the world, including India where he spent two sabbaticals overseas helping to establish the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur in 1963.

Condition
Buckling is visible along the upper left and right corners. There is minor cracking, pigment lifting and loss in the work especially in areas of white paint, for example right of two figures on the left and along the lower edge, also visible in the catalogue illustration. This work could benefit from light consolidation.
