The sheet is not secured to a mount. All four edges are slightly unevenly cut, and are slightly rounded. There is a small nick to the centre of the upper edge. There is some staining to the sheet most noticeable at all four edges. There is a further stain at the lower edge in the lower left quadrant above a very small perforation in the sheet. There is some foxing to the sheet. There are some extremely fine lines of craquelure in the thicker areas of gouache around the base of the main boat. There is some studio matter and surface dirt throughout.
The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
