each finely painted in the Renaissance-style on the front en grisaille with Bacchus seated beside a barrel overflowing with fruit or a Bacchante playfully feeding grapes to a putto on her lap beneath suspending rose garlands and flanked by foliate columns, and on the reverse with two satrys flanking a fountain and playing with snakes, all within elaborate decoration of stylized foliage, palmettes and neoclassical devices, one with printed factory mark Darté.

Some overall occasional minor wear to the enamels and gilding. The vase with the Bacchante: There is an approximate 1-inch slice chip to the underside of the rim. There is an approximate 4 by 3 inch starcrack to the one side, visible from the interior of the vase. The vase with Bacchus: There is an approximate 3/4-inch slice chip to the underside of the rim edge, another small slice chip that has been glued back an several touch up areas on the underside of the rim, possibly covering areas of wear to the gilding. One handle has been restored.
