  • height 21 1/2 in.; 54.6 cm
each vase painted with elaborate scenes of ladies, scholars and children at leisure in gardens within rococo-scrolled panels against a gilt-scroll ground, each domed cover of conforming hexagonal section similarly decorated surmounted  by a seated Buddhist lion knop, with gilt-wood stands. 6 pieces.

Condition

One cover with finial restuck, the rim with chips and frits, and a long curving hairline travelling from the inner rim to the base of the finial. The other cover also with the finial restuck, restoration to both front paws, and two pairs of drill holes to each side. The rim with a few shallow chips. One vase with two short hairlines to the rim and crazing to the interior of the neck. Both with expected wear to enamels and gilding, as well as minor firing imperfections.
