each of barrel form with an openwork 'coin' centering the top and two pairs of openwork interlinking coins at the sides, two bands of bosses dividing the sides into three registers, the lowest register painted in underglaze blue with flowering boughs within lappets, the central register, upper register, and top painted with a continuous floral scroll of either blossoming peony or lotus

Condition

One stool with an external body crack extending up from the base to the upper register of bosses, not visible on the inside, the other with a long glaze crack to the body. Each with wear to surface, minor firing imperfections including fritting to some of the bosses and edges, and chips and nicks to the glaze.
