of oval form set on three short feet, painted to the exterior and interior in iron-red and green enamels with blossoming hibiscus, lotus, and other flora between patterned borders, the interior of the box bisected along the short axis with a wall, one of the hemispherical compartments further subdivided in half, two hemispherical covers similarly painted and affixed by a pair of metal loops running through two apertures at each cover and the axial wall of the box

Condition

There is a U-shaped section out at the rim (and broken into 2 pieces) measuring approx. 3 1/4 in. in width restored back with associated overspray and overpaint to the interior and exterior. Overall with frits, minor flaking to the enamels, surface wear and firing imperfections, including several glaze lines to the interior dividing walls.
