拍品資料及來源

Of Flemish origins, Roger Vandercruse (1728-1799, maître in 1755), who used the French version of his name Lacroix and stamped his pieces RVLC, was a prolific ébéniste of the later Louis XV and Transitional periods renowned for the high quality of his marquetry and inlay work, heavily influenced by the style of the royal cabinetmaker Jean-François Oeben, who married Lacroix's sister in 1749.
A writing table attributed to RVLC of the same form and with very similar inlay and bronze mounts was sold Christie's Paris, December 17, 2009, lot 219 (EUR 85,000).  Another comparable table attributed to RVLC was sold from the Wildenstein Collection, Christie's London, December 14, 2005, lot 49 (£90,000).
