the domed body supported on three low rectangular feet and surmounted by an upright neck, set with an S-shaped spout to one side and a tall loop handle enameled to imitate basketry, the lobed sides divided by iron-red double lines into eight segments each brightly painted with blossoming chrysanthemum, peony, prunus, or lotus all beneath a band of green keyfret at the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a bud-form knop

Condition

The tip of the spout restored with yellowing overpaint. The mouth rim with a short hairline measuring approx. 1/4 in. (0.6 cm) and with minor nicks and a flake chip. The some of black enamels on the handle have flaked off and retouched. The knop on the cover with some flaking of the enamels to the tip and restored, and the underside rim edge of the cover with 1 restored chip. Overall with minor firing imperfections and wear consistent with age and type.
