Comprising: one hinged rectangular case composed of textured gold and silver, the interior fitted with a mirror and two compartments, the thumbpiece set with a half-moon-shaped onyx segment, gross weight approximately 78 dwts, with maker's mark for Van Cleef & Arpels and workshop marks; another hinged rectangular and textured gold case, inlaid with polished wood, opening to reveal a mirror and two compartments, the thumbpiece set with four calibré-cut sapphires, gross weight approximately 85 dwts, signed Boucheron-Paris, numbered HSA2551, with Swiss assay marks.

Overall in good condition, with wear and scratches to both gold cases, commensurate with age. The VCA case stamped 18k and 935 for gold and silver. The interior compact with scratches and discoloration along the edges. The onyx thumbpiece intact, with two small nicks. The case measuring 3 x 1¾ x ½ inches, the overall length including strap and tassel 11¼ inches. The Boucheron case stamped 18K and with Swiss assay marks for 18 karat gold. The mirror with wear along the edges and discoloration to one corner possibly due to glue, but stable in its frame. The polished wood segments are a smooth, even black color. The sapphires are a medium deep blue color and of decorative quality. The case measuring 2¾ x 1¼ x ⅝ inches, the overall length including strap and tassel 13¾ inches.
