“In [Clausell’s] landscapes… light is not dramatic in form; rather, one senses an attitude at once nostalgic and evocative. However, his seascapes reflect the stronger aspect of the artist’s temperament. These constitute another vision of nature held by the artist, who succeeds at apprehending the fleeting impression that the eye has of the object, especially in the case of water, the ocean and its movement or in the reflections found in still waters. The preferred pretext for the treatment of light and color is the seascape and in them he is able to capture the luminous movements in water.”
