拍品資料及來源

The present lot is inscribed with the name Russ Kinne, a nature photographer and accomplished American explorer, who journeyed to Antarctica twice while wearing this piece.  Kinne's varied career also took him to 60 countries across the globe. He was a photographer for the US Navy, an Expedition leader in multiple continents, and also studied blue whales in Canada, all while wearing the present piece.

Kinne is a member of the illustrious Explorers Club, which dedicates itself to the passion for exploration. Among its members are Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, the first to reach the summit of Everest, and Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldridge and Michael Collins, the first men to walk the surface of the moon.

The Reference 5508 was produced between 1957 and 1961. The dial combines the gilt printing with the depth rating in white, creating an attractive contrast.
