Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. There are some minor restorations to the veneer. There is an horizontal construction crack the upper part of one door. The gilding is slightly rubbed and tarnished. Please note that the lower gilt-bronze element of one door has been replaced later. There are minute chips and scratches to the grey marble tops. Please note that this pair of encoignures was previously in the collections of Georges and Robert Heine and had been exhibited in the Musée des Arts décoratifs ('Grands ébénistes et menuisiers parisiens du XVIIIe siècle : 1740-1790', musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris, December 1955 - February 1956, n. 244).
