  • height 10 in.
  • 25.4 cm
arched rectangular body chased with rococo ornament, topped by two eagles regardant, applied with baroque columns topped by lions regardant supporting an openwork crown centered by the Commandments enclosing a Torah scroll, mounted with carnelians - two with gilt inscriptions

Condition

Minor tears to rim, missing some bells, part of one eagle head missing. Reinforcement behind at top.

The gilt inscription at rear reads: "May God remember the soul of the esteemed Mendel ben Abraham on account of his son Wolf and his wife Pesha(?) bat Moses donating... In this merit, may he live to see descendants into a ripe old age, amen. In the year 1767."
