of cartouche shape, embossed and chased with putti holding drapery around a cloud-bordered aperture for portion plaques, at the base a pair of facing lions, with full set of plaques, applied with two vacant shields with Hebrew inscriptions on back, hung with three later shields
marked near base with maker's mark HH and city mark for Bamberg

The inscriptions on the back of the two small shields translate as follows. The first plaque reads: “For the beautification of the Torah: Mr. Eliezer Lipman, may his Rock and Redeemer keep him, son of [ ], of blessed memory, from the holy community of Hildesheim, 5486 [1726].”

The second translates: “The dear Mrs. Rechel, may she live, daughter of the esteemed Menahem (?), of blessed memory, more blessed than the women of the tents, from the community of Naumburg. Made in the year [5]485 [1725].”

This maker's mark is listed in Rosenberg 3, no. 1129, but not identified. A silver-gilt cup and church silver are listed.
