Condition

Overall in very good condition. An original commission for the office of designer Jay Spectre and the desk is unique. The stainless steel surfaces with series of scuffs and scratches, primarily concentrated to the top, and minor isolated shallow indentations consistent with age and use. The proper left back corner with a small abrasion approximately 1/2in. square, partially visible in the catalog illustration. The front bottom edge near the 'v' shaped corner with an indentation approximately 1/2 in. The 1 in. vertical metal strip on the reverse of the drawers as been seamlessly replaced. The wooden interiors of the drawers with minor scattered scuffs and scratches as is consistent with gentle use. The bottom drawer opens with some resistance. The far left vertical edge of the vase with a ½ in opening where an additional steel panel is to be fitted as part of the original design for added stability. This panel can be sourced and added, please speak to a member of the department. Interestingly, the piece functions as a partner's desk with an opening accessible on the reverse. A a unique and creative example of French 1970s design.
