Condition

Overall very good condition. All elements appear to have originated together, evidenced by the corresponding description between the shade model and inscription on the label on the underside of the base. The shade with approximately 18 hairline cracks dispersed throughout. The shade with light surface soiling to the contours adjacent to the lead lines. The bronze elements are in very good condition with minor surface scratches, abrasions and light rubbing to the patina, consistent with age and gentle labeling. The lamp with a post-production electrical conversion that entailed the addition of a new hole in the oil canister. The burner and socket appear to have been assembled. The Grueby base is in very good condition with scattered minor surface irregularities inherent in the making. The base has been inspected under ultra-violet light and does not show any evidence of prior restoration. A beautiful example of the collaboration of Tiffany Studios and Grueby.
