Though some of the practices and fashions outlined by Ronalds were perhaps outmoded by 1913, 'The Fly-fisher's Entomology' had remained the fly-fishing "how-to" book more than 70 years after its original publication. This text set the standard for fly-fishing treatises as it practically communicated various angling techniques, and, most importantly, illustrated flies in color, which proved most useful to anglers.
