Third edition. 'A Faithful Narrative' was written by Edwards in 1737, and described Christian conversion in his congregations in Northampton, Massachusetts, during the Great Awakening. The text was first published in Britain in 1737, and in Boston in 1738. Dutch and German editions would follow, the work brought him international recognition. George Whitefield, for example, was a prominent British minister who voyaged to Northampton after the publication in order to meet with Edwards.
