Handcolored by county, lengthy typographic "Sketch of the Whole Southern Coast" at bottom, presumably unauthorized endorsement of Lloyd's work by Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles printed below the decorative title, the verso bearing "Lloyd's Military Map and Gazetteer of the Southern States" imposed in folio; creased, with occasional minor loss, where formerly folded to pocket size, trimmed close to neat line, laid down on linen. Handsomely framed with UVIII Plexiglass.
