A map of Oklahoma used by Lindbergh in flight, signed by him ("Lindbergh") in the lower right margin and with extensive autograph course plottings in pencil. Lindbergh frequently used standard Rand McNally maps during his flying career, especially in his early barnstorming and mail-carrier days (see following lot as well). The present map bears three flight courses plotted by Lindbergh: from Tulsa southward to the Red River; from Tulsa northeastward into Newton County, Missouri; and a partial south-southwest course through the northwest corner of the state from Kansas to Texas. All of the courses have penciled lines indicating ten-mile intervals, with some specific cumulative distances noted.
