• gilt full plate movement, verge escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved masked balance cock, flat balance, square baluster pillars gilt champlevé dial, Roman numerals and half hour markers, outer Arabic minute track, blued steel beetle and poker hands • plain gold inner case, aperture to the case back for winding, outer case with repoussé scene depicting Vertumnus and Pomona within an asymmetrical cartouchewith an outermost fish skin covered gilt metal protective case decorated with piqué work •  movement signed C. Cabrier, London, 5501, London hallmarks for 1748 and maker's mark W.R

Condition

Movement running at the time of cataloguing. The dial and hands in good condition, some minor scuffs to the centre and within the hour track. The Inner case with scuffs through out, wearing and denting to the band. Repoussé scene to the outer case, fairly well defined. Evidence of some rubbing to the most prominent features. The inside with scratched areas which has thinned the gold to such an extent that small holes have formed. The outermost protective case in good condition with no noticeable loss to the piqué work.
