SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND NECKLACE

Composed of a line of oval and cushion-cut sapphires, accented by old European, old mine and single-cut diamonds, supporting a fringe of detachable pendants centering cushion-cut sapphires within old mine and old European-cut diamond frames, with two additional sapphire and diamond pendants of similar design, length 15 inches, one diamond missing.

In good condition, the mountings with light surface scratches not noticeable when worn. One diamond missing. Mountings test as platinum. The sapphires, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 145.00 carats, are medium slightly violetish blue to violetish blue, with a few medium light examples, slightly to moderately included. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 17.75 carats, are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity, with a few I examples. Clasp is fitted with a safety closure and closes securely. The additional pendants measure approximately 1 inch in length. The two additional diamond and sapphire pendants were originally worn suspended from diamond-set earring surmounts no longer remaining in the collection. Accompanied by three AGL report nos. 1094457, 1094456 and 1094458 stating that the sapphires weighing 11.26, 9.69 and 8.12 carats are of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating.
